The D@W$ is the Audiovisual brain-heart-and-soul quirky, tongue-in-cheek performance duo based between North East England and the Midlands of dancer, choreographer and musician Pav Rai & musician/artist Marianne Sice.
Their debut release ‘Can you hear me?’ SCREAMS the shared feelings of being unheard as a woman in the music industry. The song has an industrial feel, with cheeky one liners on top. The live performance sees the narrative of the track play out through a dance number interacting with video projection.

ALT-POP FOLK DUO WHO HAVE RECEIVED RADIO PLAY ON NE1FM, PERFORMED AT THE RENOWNED SURF CAFE TYNEMOUTH, HEADLINED OXJAM FESTIVAL NEWCASTLE AND IN SUPPORT OF NHS FRONTLINE WORKERS DURING THE PANDEMIC, PERFORMED AT NHS’ WELLBEING LIVE 2021 (SEE BELOW).
In May 2021 Mazzi and Nick were invited to play for NHS Tees Esk and Wear Valley Trust and X System’s Collaborative Event ‘Wellbeing Through Music’ a landmark event designed to create community during the pandemic. You can catch up on the full gig as livestreamed on Zoom and Facebook here:

STILL MOVEMENT (2015)
‘Still Movement’ was an interdisciplinary collaboration between Colin Lawson (painter), Chante St Clair Inglis (animator) and Marianne Sice (composer/musician).
This work came about as the result of a commission from Welcome Research Group at Northumbria University. The group invited us to create a piece of ‘sound art’ exploring the relationship between music, art and the brain and how the arts can promote wellbeing. This was screened at Music, Mind and Way of Life Conference hosted by Interpersonal Neurobiologist Daniel Siegal at The Sage, Gateshead, 2015.
